The Disappearance of Kenley Matheson: 25 Years and Still No Closure

The disappearance of Allan “Kenley” Matheson on September 21, 1992, remains one of the most perplexing unsolved cases in Nova Scotia. Kenley, a 20-year-old student at Acadia University in Wolfville, was in the midst of his first semester when he vanished without a trace.
It has been 25 years since his family and friends last saw him, and although it is still an open case, there have been no concrete leads or evidence to suggest what happened to him.
Kenley’s story is heart-wrenching for his family, who have had to endure the pain and uncertainty of not knowing what happened to their son. His mother, Sarah MacDonald, has spoken publicly about the devastation of not knowing what happened to Kenley and has urged anyone who might have information about his disappearance to come forward.
“I believe someone out there knows something that may help piece together what happened,” she said. “I’m urging anyone who remembers anything, regardless of how insignificant it may seem, to please come forward.”
The last known whereabouts of Kenley were at a party on the Acadia University campus on the weekend of September 18th. He was seen by his sister and others at the university’s Crowell Tower dormitory on September 20th and was last seen by a friend walking on Main Street in Wolfville on September 21st.
He wore blue jeans, a purple t-shirt, a red and black backpack, and a ball cap. Since that day, there has been no contact with family members or friends and there has been no activity on his bank account.
The investigation into Kenley’s disappearance has been ongoing for 25 years, with the case being added to the Nova Scotia Department of Justice’s Reward for Major Unsolved Crimes Program in 2012.
