I Was Forced to Install Linux

Windows, you have forced my hand. You have crashed for the last time. Time to give a Linux distro a try.

I consider myself a bit of a “tech-savvy” individual. I don't usually run into a problem I can’t fix on my computer, and I’m usually the first call if my parents have computer issues.

I was downloading a large game update and decided to leave my laptop open while I was out doing some shopping. When I got home I noticed quickly that my laptop screen was turned off. Not just a black screen, it was powered right down.

“Oh, shit. Did I not plug my laptop in before I left?”

Nope, everything is fine there. I press the power button, and the manufacturer's logo appears briefly on the screen.

“Ok, so far so good,” We have power at least.

The screen goes black again and… nothing.

I wait an extra long time because I know I can be impatient, and computers can just run on their own time sometimes, just to be sure I’m not forcing a restart just as the computer would have started properly.
