5 Reasons Why Your Dog is Smarter Than You Are
Man’s best friend may be the goofy sidekick, but is it all a lie? Just how smart are these fuzzy slobber machines? What secrets are they hiding?
Dogs are extremely good at understanding Humans
Dogs have evolved from wolves to become the lovable companions we know today. This massive amount of time humans and dogs have spent together produces animals that can understand their owners almost like they are humans themselves.
How many times have you heard someone say “I swear that dog can understand what I’m saying?” The bond that connects a dog to its owner can at times run close to the supernatural.
The Nose Knows
A dog’s nose is so sensitive that they can tell what direction footprints go by the smell in only 5 steps (Some people probably quicker, depending on when they changed their socks last). In some European countries, a suspect identified by a trained search dog is even admissible in court.
A dog’s sense of smell is so far advanced compared to our own, they can be trained to do things such as search and rescue, bomb/drug detection, and can even be trained to detect cancer.
Dogs can detect your mood
The bond between a dog and their owners is so strong that dogs have been known to be able to tell what their owner is feeling, and adjust their behavior. A dog is able to sense when someone is angry or sad, often getting excited or mopey if their owner feels similarly.
A study done in 2016 suggests that dogs can recognize emotion based on information gained from all the senses, and ability that was previously thought possessed by humans.
